It’s a question that has puzzled dog owners for decades. Are dogs allowed to eat Oreos? The answer is yes, but you have to know how much can be eaten and when. A response from a veterinarian: “No matter how much an Oreo is, it’s not good for your dog if they eat the whole thing. It can cause them to get diarrhea and throw up which isn’t fun at all.” The number of cookies dogs are allowed each day: Some people may be confused on just how many oreos their dogs can have in one sitting since there has been so much debate about whether or not they’re safe for consumption.

The answer will depend on the weight of the animal but some guidelines that we would suggest are three-fourths to one cookie per pound. That means a 20lb dog should only eat two oreos while a 120 lb dog could manage four without any side effects.
